Man Accused Of Selling Drugs, Fleeing Police Nabbed On Outstanding Warrants In Hudson Valley

A 33-year-old Connecticut man accused of selling controlled substances and fleeing from officers was jailed in the Hudson Valley after being apprehended on multiple outstanding warrants, police said.

Hartford County resident Luis Flores of New Britain was arrested at Connecticut's Derby Superior Court and extradited back to Putnam County on Tuesday, Oct. 22, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announced on Monday, Oct. 28. 

According to the Sheriff's Office, Flores had an outstanding bench warrant in the Town of Southeast Court for failing to appear to answer the following charges:

  • Second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance;
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance;
  • First-degree reckless endangerment;
  • Third-degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle;
  • Resisting arrest.

Flores also allegedly had an outstanding arrest warrant signed by a judge at Putnam County Superior Court after he was indicted by a grand jury for the charges of:

  • Second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance;
  • Three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance;
  • First-degree reckless endangerment;
  • Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance;
  • Resisting arrest;
  • Third-degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle;
  • Reckless driving.

Finally, Flores was also charged with second-degree bail jumping on the day of his extradition, the Sheriff's Office said.

More information about his alleged crimes was not released by police. 

After he was arraigned on his bench warrant in the Town of Carmel Court, he was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility pending his arraignment for his arrest warrant. 

After this next arraignment in Putnam County Superior Court, Flores was ordered remanded at the Putnam County Correctional Facility pending a future court date.
